It isn't just that we have content providers and no editors. It isn't just that information is being treated like used Kleenex. It isn't just that the capacity for critical reasoning and perspective is all but dead in now several generations of Americans who think that "NUH UH" "YUH HUH" yelled in all caps and lolspeak constitutes intelligent discourse. It's something bigger, something worse, which I can't quite put my finger on. Part of it is how progressive media criticism of the 1970s-1990s has now become a kneejerk set of categories that themselves substitute for genuine critical thinking. I feel like a shipwrecked person, or one in diaspora: we are told that all narratives are equal, but we know intuitively that this cannot be true, even as we have no toolkit for addressing the problem. Be that all as it may, a great service is to reconstruct the use of the TIMELINE as a guiding principle of history. My own graduate education in history methods was in the era of postmodern wanking, when one got the impression that narrative history was thrown out the window not so much because it was wrong, but because it took too much skill and energy to build intelligent criticism. And yet Before and After are crucial human orienting concepts, whether they are related in a post hoc or a causal or associative fashion. In any event, your project is interesting. Thank you for taking the trouble. It will be sad when whatever resources dry up, because that seems to be the trajectory of intellectual work these days: a grant for awhile, then silence. Thus do rich families and their corporations control things behind the mask of Philanthropy. It had to of been that airliner, because the other one that crashed in Pennsylvannia didn't come down this far, and the other 2 had already hit the towers! Lets all get together and help the FAA make a Re-Doo of the planes where abouts during that time, what ya say? It's not gonna make any of us look foolish, it's just now alot of the reports have surfaced of recount events of that day, concerning all these airliners, and every bit of info we can gather and get to the families and FAA, it will help somebody I'm sure! I send out all my love and prayers to all the victims and families of that God Awful Day! And together maybe we as civilians can help them, I'm willing to do my part, is there anybody out there who can recall that day and any of this weird happenings up in the air that day? Seeing it like I did? My husband and I witnessed a commerical passenger big aircraft like the Boeing's big aircraft.It came over Wytheville Mountain toward "our neck" of the woods really low and loud. His mother who lives next door{still does} her and a friend were sitting on her front porch, I had seen this big plane from the patio doors on the back of My House, I go outside look up and God What A Scary Sight! At the same time his mother was calling the house, he answers the phone and comes outside w/me by then, they was watching this also, We All Saw This Ginormous Airplane make a Huge U-Turn in the air, over Porter's Crossroads on state route road 94! At this place of high power-lines up on hills within less than a 1/2 mile from our house, we was all like what in the Hell is going on!?! Then about that time I had the baby monitor in my hand our daughter had woken, so I went back in the house to tend to her, and that's when Fox was showing "The Towers!" And what was going on, the 1st one had been hit by then, so I grab my daughter run back out side tell him to call his mother/he was already on the phone w/her, i told him to tell them go in her house and cut the TV on-on Fox! And he said why? And I preceeded in telling him what was going on, and in the meantime that giant airliner went back toward Wytheville Mountain, and it didnt pullup any! It stayed just as low as it was when it came over our house! To this day I have no idea of who to call in a situation like that again, I didn't then and I still dont! Maps on google.com, click 1283 Dunford Rd Max Meadows,VA. click for traffic and zoom in it will show you Porters Crossraods, rt.94 we lived up Dunford Rd. actually he and his mother still do, but that's how close to seeing all of this we were! And I would say at the altitude the plane was at or not much more than 10,000 ft.So this was truly a very scary sight, our daughter at the time was 1 yr and 7 months old, my only child! I've also had the good fortune to make some great new friends, who continue to point me in the right direction and send the best video links to clue me in. Yesterday, I participated in a protest of the official 911 cover up, which was eye opening. It's a shame there is so much apathy, on the street, not to mention defensive antagonism.
